New Delhi: Defence experts said on Wednesday that Rafale aircraft, known worldwide for precise warfare, unmatched strength and multi-purpose role, will significantly increase the capacity of India’s Air Force. Especially, its role will be important when facing neighboring countries like Pakistan and China. India is the fourth country to have this state-of-the-art aircraft after France, Egypt and Qatar.
He said that the time to include Rafale aircraft in the fleet is also important in view of the tension on the border with China. He said that the induction of 36 Rafale aircraft in the Air Force fleet could be important for India as none of the countries in the neighborhood possessed such efficiency and unmatched electronic warfare systems.
It has a maximum speed of 1.8 Mach, including air defense, high-precision attack, anti-ship attack. It is also compared to the US F-35 and F-22 fighter jets. In the last few years, Rafael has shown strength in Afghanistan, Libya, Mali, Iraq and Syria.
On comparison to the F-35, experts said that the Rafale is more agile because it can fly at higher speeds with longer arms. However the F-35 is ahead of the Rafale in terms of aeronautics and electronic warfare systems.
