Adhikari characterized the statement as a ‘miniscule flow’ in advance of the Lok Sabha polls. Taking to X, he said, “So, this minuscule growth is a mere ‘lollipop’ for the West Bengal authorities employees before the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections and a method to avoid hard questions at some stage in the ensuing legal warfare in the Court of Law. Nothing more, nothing less, the statement added.

He said that the government often adjusts Dearness Allowance 2 times a year for personnel. This adjustment is primarily based on the proportion boom in the year common of the All India Consumer Price Index. Effective New Year with DA Hike

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee declared a 4 % increase in dearness allowance (DA) for all country employees and made it effective on New Year’s Day. “So, any discount of hole that’s presently forty in step with cent in comparison with the Central Rate of DA is immaterial and could live like that only, as the potential increase in DA for the significant government personnel could be once more effective from January 2024 and would in all likelihood cancel out any discount or closing of gap with this paltry four in keeping with cent increase,” Adhikari further defined.

DA hike bears costs from the country.

Mamata Banerjee said that the country could bear an additional cost of Rs 2,400 crore for the DA hike. She added that she had met Prime Minister Narendra Modi regarding the alleged non-fee of dues to Bengal from the Centre, declaring that the important government owed Rs 1.15 lakh crore to the state. Under the new pay scale, the state government has launched 6 percent DA from 2019 with an expenditure of Rs 4,144 crore in 4 years.”
