News Desk – Jacqueline Fernandez’s mother, Kim Fernandez, passed away on Sunday in a Mumbai hospital, days after being admitted due to a heart stroke. The news was confirmed by Jacqueline’s team. Kim had been undergoing treatment in the ICU at Lilavati Hospital since last month.
Jacqueline’s father, Elroy Fernandez, was seen outside the hospital during Kim’s treatment. Jacqueline, too, was regularly visiting her mother and stayed by her side throughout the difficult time. Last month, she skipped her performance at the IPL ceremony in Guwahati to be with her mother. A source close to the family had shared that she was prioritising her mother’s health.
In a previous interview with India TV, Jacqueline had spoken fondly of her mother, calling her an “inspiration” and saying, “My mom always supported me. I miss her a lot. I live here alone without my parents. There are these two people who have been so strong and they have been such an inspiration for me which always keeps me going.”
Kim Fernandez, of Malaysian and Canadian descent, met Elroy Fernandez, a Sri Lankan, in the 1980s while working as an air hostess. The couple settled down and raised Jacqueline in Manama, Bahrain.
