Lucknow: After putting a brave face in fighting and winning the global pandemic Corona in the first term, the Yogi government of Uttar Pradesh is all set to achieve its ambitious target of ‘one district, one medical college’ and it is claimed that 61 medical colleges were ready. Work is about to start in the remaining 14 districts. Along with this, CM Yogi Adityanath has taken a resolution for the second term that all 403 assembly constituencies will have a hundred-bed hospital. The phase-wise targets fixed for five years include free dialysis facility in every district and the provision of a first referral unit in each district besides the district hospital.

A phased action plan for the medical and health sector was presented before the Yogi cabinet on Tuesday at Annexe Bhawan. The Department of Food and Drug Administration proposed its schemes including Medicine, Health and Family Welfare, Medical Education, AYUSH, Child Development and Nutrition involved in this sector.
During the review of departmental presentations regarding various targets for this term, CM Yogi said that unprecedented work has been done in the state in the field of health and medicine in the last five years. Be it the efforts to eradicate encephalitis or the management of Covid-19, the state has received appreciation from global institutions. This effort should be continued as a team.
With sustained effort and monitoring, the schemes like NHRM and NHM have been made corruption-free. Along with this, he has set goals to revive the infrastructure of the health sector. Yogi said that 100-bed hospitals should be made available in all the assembly 403 constituencies of UP. Prepare a detailed action plan and complete it in a phased manner. Just as 5000 health sub-centers were set up in the last five years, 10,000 new sub-centers are to be set up in the next five years.
