Congress invites Akhilesh Yadav to participate in the Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra

The Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav was invited by the Congress on Tuesday to participate in the Uttar Pradesh leg of the Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra, which is being led by Rahul Gandhi, following his denial of an invitation a few days earlier.

Having accepted the invitation from Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, Yadav declared that he would attend the yatra in Raebareli or Amethi.

Mallikarjun Kharge has extended an invitation to Akhilesh Yadav to participate in Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra, which begins on February 16 in Uttar Pradesh. The SP said in a statement that Yadav has given permission to participate in the yatra in either Raebareli or Amethi.

According to Yadav, the Nyay Yatra is expected to fortify the ‘PDA’ strategy of the SP and further its advocacy for social justice and harmony among people. ‘Pichchde (backward), Dalit, and Alpsankhyak’ (minority) is the meaning of PDA, an SP coinage. 

When asked if he would take part in the yatra on Saturday, Yadav had responded, “The issue is that a lot of significant events happen, but we don’t receive invitations. Congress general secretary Jairam Ramesh had stated on Sunday, tagging a video on Yadav’s comments, that the specific itinerary and schedule for the Nyay Yatra in Uttar Pradesh was being worked on and would be finalized in a day or two. The Congress and the SP belong to the INDIA bloc, which is the opposition party. 

Recently, the TMC and other Indian constituents have been criticizing the Congress for carrying out the yatra and sharing seats, respectively. Mamata Banerjee, the chief minister of West Bengal and leader of the TMC, had refrained from attending the yatra during its stay in her state.

On Tuesday, Avinash Pande, the UP in-charge and general secretary of the Congress, took part in the ‘Jyot se Jyot Jagate Chalo’ cultural program, which was arranged by the Uttar Pradesh Congress Committee in honor of poet Pradeep’s birth anniversary. According to Pande’s post on X, the program will culminate in a campaign aimed at disseminating the message of Nyay Yatra to the public.

Subsequently, the UP Congress announced in a statement that this program, in which state-based Congress workers will educate the public about the Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra, will run until February 12.

Speaking on the occasion, Pande stated that the nation is being reminded of humanity, love, and brotherhood by Rahul Gandhi ji. However, by inciting hatred, the BJP and the RSS aim to regress the nation. It becomes more of our collective duty in such a circumstance to support our nation’s leader in preserving the Constitution. 

Poet Pradeep, according to UP Congress chief Ajay Rai, had devoted his life to serving humanity and fraternity.

Everyone in the nation is now aware that the only party standing up for their rights is the Congress. The people are aware of the BJP’s toxic web, and Rai stated that the ruling party will undoubtedly fall in 2024.
