News Desk – More than 50 schools in Delhi received bomb threat emails on Friday morning, sparking panic among students, parents, and teachers. According to officials, bomb disposal teams and police squads were quickly sent to the schools for thorough searches.
Some of the schools that got the threatening emails include:
St. Xavier’s School in Civil Lines
Richmond Global School in Paschim Vihar
Abhinav Public School in Rohini
The Sovereign School in Rohini
Officials said more names are still being confirmed.
This isn’t the first time such threats have been sent recently.
On Wednesday, seven schools got similar emails.
On Tuesday, St. Stephen’s College and St. Thomas School also received threats.
And on Monday, three schools had gotten such hoax messages too.
In the case of St. Stephen’s, the email claimed that four bombs and two packets of RDX were placed around the college, including the library, and would explode by 2 PM. However, all these threats turned out to be false alarms.
Police say that on Wednesday, they traced one of the hoax emails back to a 12-year-old boy from South Delhi. The child had used his own phone to send the message and told officers it was just a prank. He was questioned and later sent home after counseling. The police said the boy is also receiving mental health treatment.
Reacting to the repeated threats, AAP leader Atishi criticized the BJP, saying:
“Over 20 schools have received bomb threats today! Think about the fear and trauma for children, parents, and teachers. BJP controls all levels of governance in Delhi, yet cannot ensure our children’s safety. Shocking!”
While the threats have so far been hoaxes, the repeated incidents have caused anxiety and concern across the city. Authorities continue to investigate and are urging people not to panic but remain alert.
