NationalYatra to be successful in Rajasthan, says Pilot

Date:

Jaipur: Former deputy chief minister of Rajasthan and Congress leader Sachin Pilot has distanced himself from a threat by a Gurjar outfit to disrupt the Bharat Jodo Yatra. The Gurjar outfit demanded that Pilot should be made the chief minister of Rajasthan.

Pilot said that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) was planning to foment troubles during the Yatra. Leader of Gurjar Aarakshan Sangharsh Samiti leader Vijay Singh Bainsla threatened to oppose the Yatra in the state unless his demand for making Pilot chief minister of Rajasthan is fulfilled. Pilot told media persons on Wednesday that the Yatra would be successful in Rajasthan and the BJP’s efforts to stall it would fizzle out. Pilot said that the Congress in Rajasthan would welcome the Yatra with unity. He made the statement outside the party’s war room where a meeting has been convened to review preparations for the Yatra.

Bainsala’s state said that the community had voted for the Congress to see a Gurjar leader as Chief minister. Reacting to his comments, Pilot said that the Congress had been reduced to 21 seats in 2013 assembly elections but the people brought it to power in 2018.

The Yatra will be historic and the people are excited about it, Pilot said, adding that people from all walks of life want that the Yatra should come to Rajasthan, Pilot said, adding that the Yatra would enter the state between December 3 and 6.

The squabbling between Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot and Pilot has rocked the Congress twice in the past two years over the post of chief minister. Both are in no mood to relent.
