Ballia: A young girl of class 9th student was burnt alive on Friday for opposing molestation. The girl is scorched by 75%. She is currently admitted to BHU, Varanasi. Her condition is said to be critical.
The girl’s family has accused the young man living in the neighborhood. SP Devendra Nath said that the police have arrested two people, including the main accused. Cases have been registered in sections 307, 326, 354D and Poxo Act of IPC.
The incident took place in a village in Dubhrad area. Police officers investigating on the spot.
According to the information, in a village of Dubhrad, the family was awakened late on Friday night after hearing the screaming of the girl. Going to the terrace, the girl was surrounded by flames. The girl’s father’s hand also got burnt while extinguishing the fire. The victim was then taken to the district hospital from where she was referred to BHU.
The father alleges that Krishna Gupta, who lives in the neighborhood, often molested the daughter. Complaints were made to the family members of the accused, but still she continued to tamper. The father alleges that Krishna tried to kill the daughter alive.
