Srinagar: Two militants were killed in an encounter with security forces during a siege and search operation in Kulgam district of Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday.
A police spokesperson said that the National Rifle (RR), Central Reserve Police Bus (CRPF) and the Special Operations Team of Jammu and Kashmir Police started a siege and search operation in Chingam of Kulgam early today after receiving intelligence about the presence of terrorists. .
He said that when the security forces were locking all the exit routes and searching every house, the terrorists hiding there started firing. After this, the security forces also retaliated and the encounter started in which two terrorists were killed.
He said that the campaign was going on till the final notice.
