NationalTwisha Sharma Death Case: Family Alleges Harassment, Demands Fresh Post-Mortem

Date:

The death of Twisha Sharma, a Noida resident found dead at her marital home in Bhopal, has sparked a major controversy, with her family accusing her husband and in-laws of harassment and demanding a fresh investigation.

Twisha, who was around two months pregnant, was found hanging at her home in the Katara Hills area on the night of May 12. She had married Bhopal-based lawyer Samarth Singh in December 2025 after meeting him through a dating app in 2024.

Police are investigating the case as a suspected suicide, but Twisha’s family has alleged foul play and claimed she was under severe mental stress after marriage.

According to police, Twisha’s husband and mother-in-law took her to a hospital, where doctors declared her dead. No suicide note was found. CCTV footage reportedly showed Twisha walking towards the rooftop shortly before her death and later being carried downstairs by her husband and two others.

Following complaints from the family, police registered a case against her husband Samarth Singh and mother-in-law Giribala Singh under sections related to dowry death and harassment. A Special Investigation Team (SIT) has also been formed to investigate the case.

Police have announced a ₹10,000 reward for information leading to Samarth Singh’s arrest.

Twisha’s family has demanded a second post-mortem examination at All India Institute of Medical Sciences Delhi and alleged that injury marks were found on her body. The family also protested outside the residence of Mohan Yadav, demanding justice and a fair probe.

WhatsApp chats accessed during the investigation reportedly showed Twisha sharing her emotional distress with her mother. In one message, she allegedly wrote, “I feel suffocated, mother.”

Another message sent to her friend shortly before her death said, “I am trapped… don’t get trapped yourself.”

Twisha’s family claimed she wanted to return to Noida and repeatedly complained about mental harassment inside her marital home.

Meanwhile, retired judge Giribala Singh, Twisha’s mother-in-law, denied the allegations and claimed Twisha was emotionally unstable and had issues related to substance dependence. The family of Twisha has strongly rejected these claims.

Twisha Sharma was an MBA graduate, former Miss Pune, and had worked in marketing and communications. She had also appeared in the Telugu film Mugguru Monagallu.
