Jammu: Militants targeted the District President and his family of the Bharatiya Janata Party late Wednesday night in Bandipora district of Kashmiri Valley.
The BJP district president, his brother and father were also killed in the attack. On Wednesday night, militants attacked the BJP leader’s residence in Bandidipora in North Kashmir. BJP leader Sheikh Wasim, his father Wasir Ahmed and brother Umar Sheikh were seriously injured in the attack. His house is located in Muslimabad Khalusa near Bandipora police station.
The three father-sons injured in the attack were immediately admitted to the nearest hospital, from where they were referred to Srinagar Hospital. All three died while on the way to the hospital. Confirming his death, Director General of Police Dilbag Singh said that he had been provided with 8 security personnel but was not with them at the time of the attack. It is being verified. At the same time, the police have surrounded the entire area and are looking for the attackers.
