Strong winds, heavy rain, Mumbai is in trouble

Mumbai: The capital of Maharashtra is in a bad condition. Stormy winds along with heavy rains have added to people’s woes. Strong winds have been blowing in Mumbai since this afternoon. By evening, the speed of these stormy winds reached 107 kilometers per hour. In view of this, Mumbai Police and Maharashtra Government Minister Aditya Thackeray has appealed people not to move out of their homes. The situation in Mumbai can be gauged from the messages and pictures coming on Twitter. With the help of big cranes, cars stuck on the road, fallen trees are being raised.

The Meteorological Department says that strong winds have been recorded in Colaba at a speed of 60 to 70 km per hour. But around five o’clock in the evening, the wind speed reached 107 km per hour. The department said that till evening, Colaba in Mumbai received 22.9 cm of rain while Santacruz received 8.8 cm of rain.
