Indore (MP): A smart phone has been recovered from a female prisoner lodged in Madhya Pradesh’s Indore district, official sources said on Wednesday. She was shifted from the Tihar jail in New Delhi three months ago. In the aftermath of the recovery of the smart phone, a female guard of the district jail was suspended, sources said. The prisoner identified as a Payal was involved in cheating and financial fraud cases. One of such cases is pending in a local court. Central jail superintendent Alka Sonkar is investigating the phone recovery case.

The mobile recovered from Payal during a surprise checking of the prison on August 21 had the internet facility. The mobile phone was handed over to the Sanyogitaganj police station.
