New Delhi: Social activist Teesta Setalvad got an interim bail from the Supreme Court on Friday. Setalvad was arrested on June 25 for reportedly framing “innocent people” with the help of false evidence in connection with 2002 Gujarat riots.

A bench comprising Chief Justice Uday Umesh Lalit and Justices S Ravindra Bhat and Sudhanshu Dhulia asked Setalvad to submit her passport to the trail court till the Gujarat High Court takes a decision on her regular bail plea. Aside from that the apex court advised her to cooperation with the agency probing the cases of collecting false evidence to frame people.
