Kanpur: Vikas Dubey, the main accused in the Kanpur encounter, was killed in a police encounter this morning. After the encounter, Vikas Dubey’s arrested wife Richa Dubey and son have been released by the Kanpur police. According to police officials, no suspected role of wife Richa Dubey has been found in the Kanpur shootout. Police has clarified that she was not on the spot during the incident. Vikas Dubey was caught on 9 July from Mahakal Temple in Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh.
According to the report, wife Richa Dubey got the news of Vikas Dubey’s encounter when she is in police station. According to the information, Richa Dubey was not told about the encounter of Vikas Dubey by any police officer but she realized from the attitude of the police staff that her husband Vikas Dubey had been killed. After this, Richa Dubey started crying in the police station itself.
At present, post mortem of Vikas Dubey’s body is being done. However, ACP Deepak Kumar, who reached Vikas Dubey’s Lucknow residence, has said that if the family of Vikas Dubey wants to go to Kanpur, they will take him.
