New Delhi: There may be a slight delay in the onset of the southwest monsoon over Kerala.
According to India Meteorological Department (IMD), the monsoon may arrive in Kerala by June 4.
The delay in monsoon may not have any impact on agriculture. Nor would it have any impact on rainfall, said agriculture scientists.
The southwest monsoon normally arrives in Kerala on June 1 every year. Occasionally, it delays about seven days.
In a statement, the met office said the southwest monsoon over Kerala may be slightly delayed. It may enter Kerala on June 4.
Dust storm sweeps across Delhi
A dust storm swept across New Delhi on Tuesday when the PM10 pollution in Delhi shot up to hazardous levels.
There was a thick blanket of haze over the national capital.
According to the weather office, a dust storm with speed up to 50km per hour breezed through the national capital between 3 am and 6am, lowering visibility to mere 700 metres.
