A 17-year-old student made a video clipping of the incident and made it viral on social media. He is one of the accused. The police said that the students, including girls, gathered in an apartment in February and held a lip-locking competition while their friends cheered them on. The contest was part of the ‘truth and dare game,’ the police said, but it was not just a game. There was something more than meets the eye. A girl seen in the video alleged that she had known the boys living in that apartment and that she had a sexual relation with one of them, which was also filmed. According to the police, the other boys had sexually assaulted two girls of the group several times by using the video. All the students belonged to a reputed college. City police commissioner N Shashi Kumar said the probe would be taken to its logical end. The college management should keep a vigil over students’ activities and bring to the notice of the police such cases of extreme indiscipline and misconduct, he said.
