Srinagar: Three militants of Hizbul Mujahideen were killed in an encounter with security forces on Friday in Tral area of ​​Pulwama district of Jammu and Kashmir, police gave this information. He said that security forces had laid siege and conducted a search operation after getting information about the presence of militants in Mandura of Tral area.

Police said the militants opened fire on the security forces, in response to which the security forces also opened fire and the encounter started. He said the slain militants have been identified as Heir Hasan, Arif Bashir and Ehtesham-ul-Haq. The three were associated with the banned militant organization Hizbul Mujahideen.

Police said the trio were allegedly involved in a number of terrorist offenses, including a grenade attack near the Tral bus stand on January 2 this year. Another encounter took place between militants and security forces in Lelhar area of ​​Pulwama district, an official said. Security forces also laid siege there and conducted a search operation. He said that there is tremendous firing from both sides.
