In Bareilly, the person who entered the bank without a mask was shot by the security guard

Bareilly: In Uttar Pradesh’s Bareilly, a person was shot by the security personnel of the bank for entering the bank without a mask, the injured person has been admitted to the district hospital, the person who has been shot, has been identified as a railway employee. At present, the police have arrested the security personnel of the bank who shot.

According to media reports, a young man, who came to the bank without a mask on Friday, was shot by a guard at the regional office of Bank of Baroda located on Junction Road in Bareilly. It is being told that there was an altercation between the guard and the customer after coming without wearing a mask, after which the angry guard shot him with a gun.

Bareilly Superintendent of Police (City) Ravindra Kumar said that the customer Rajesh Kumar reached the bank at 11:30 am on Friday and got into an argument with Keshav Prasad Mishra, the security personnel present in the bank branch premises. He said the dispute took such a serious turn that Mishra shot Kumar. He said that Kumar was immediately admitted to the district hospital in Bareilly. Senior branch manager Geeta Bhusal told that the forensic team is examining the CCTV footage and only after seeing the CCTV footage, something will be known about the incident.

On receiving information about the firing in the bank, Inspector General of Police (Bareilly Zone) Ramit Sharma, Senior Superintendent of Police and other officers reached the spot. According to eyewitnesses, before being taken into custody, the guard was heard shouting that the customer was trying to enter without a mask and when stopped for this, he misbehaved with her.

According to eyewitnesses, the guard also said that he had to fire when the customer forcibly entered. Later the bank issued a statement expressing regret over the incident saying, “We deeply regret the unfortunate firing incident that resulted from an alleged altercation between the guard and the victim. The injured has been immediately admitted to the district hospital and is out of danger.”

A statement issued by the bank said, “The bank has provided financial assistance to the victim’s family. The guard posted by a private security agency was immediately relieved of his duty and the police arrested him.
