An incident of honor killing was reported in Karnataka where a man was murdered by his father-in-law. The incidents were reported in the Bagalkote district.

According to the information received the police have paced up their investigation to catch the accused. The man was identified as Tammna Gouda along with him two other men.

According to the official reports the Victim Bhujabala who was from the Jain community had managed to escape with Bhujabala who was from the Kshatriya clan from their homes last year.

After the elopement, the couple stayed away from their village for a few months but later returned to their native place and lived away from their parents.

The accused in the meantime who was furious with his daughter and son-in-law for having an inter-caste marriage made a plan to kill Bhujabala.

The incident happened on the 17th of December when the deceased was passing by a temple in the area that was attacked.

According to the information received the accused first threw chili powder in his eyes following which he was attacked by a heavy knife. He was badly injured by the attack and later succumbed to the injuries.

According to the official police statement, the accused was accompanied by two other persons.

The police have assured that they will soon get hold of the accused and a proper investigation would be done into the matter.
