New Delhi: Minorities Minister Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi on Monday said that the final decision regarding Haj 2021 will be taken keeping in view all the COVID related safety aspects including the pandemic impact, health of Saudi Arabia people and overall review of the situation.
Presiding over a review meeting for Haj 2021 here in the capital Mr Naqvi said that accepting of Haj applications and other preparations for the same will be taken by the Haj Committee of India and other concerned agencies.
He said that the formal announcement regarding the application and other procedures will be made only after decision by the Government of Saudi Arabia with regard to Haj 2021.
He stressed on the fact that keeping in view the COVID guidelines there may be changes made on a large scale in the Haj arrangements and related processes.
These will include housing, traffic, health and other arrangements in India and Saudi Arabia, Naqvi added.
Due to the COVID 19, the government’s utmost priority will be the health and well being of the Haj pilgrims, and, Government of India and the concerned agencies will make elaborate arrangements in place to ensure the same.
The government and Haj committee has already started taking necessary steps in this regard.
