Leaving them, the woman elopes with her paramour

Bhopal/Indore (Madhya Pradesh): Four minor siblings were cozily sleeping on a blanket near Maharaja Yashwantrao Hospital not knowing what was in store for them when they would wake up.

Their mother eloped with her paramour on Sunday. When the siblings –Reshma (eight), Ruby (six), Sheru (four), and Sheru (two) – woke up and did not find their mother around, they began to cry. Then, they were handed over to the child line.

The children are from the Barwani district of Madhya Pradesh. Their mother, Janvi, and uncle, Rajesh, their father’s friend, brought them to the city on April 30. Their mother ran away with Rajesh leaving them orphaned.

The children told the child-line officials that as soon as they reached MY Hospital, Rajesh left them with their mother, promising to return.

After a while, he returned and left with their mother, saying both would soon return. The children continued to wait. Since Janvi and Rajesh did not come back, the tired and hungry children fell into the arms of sleep.

When the children got up and began to cry without seeing their mother, a few pedestrians gathered around the kids and informed the police about them.

According to an official of the child-line Shubham Thakur, his office came to know about the incident through Sanyogitaganj police.

The child-line officials picked up the children from the hospital area and took them to a special juvenile police unit for a medical examination.

Afterward, they were handed over to the Child Welfare Committee. The children said that they had never gone to school and that their father’s name was Munshi Khan. The police are tracing their father.

Meanwhile, chairperson of the Child Welfare Committee Pallavi Porwal said strict action would be taken against the woman who had abandoned her children, since it was an act of cruelty.

The parents of the children work as laborers. At a time, when they should have gone to school, the children are struggling to survive.
