New Delhi: The Union Home Ministry on Sunday clarified that the exemption granted to the movement of people during the lockdown is available only to the migrant workers.

Union Home Secretary Ajay Bhalla said to all states and union territories that the Ministry of Home Affairs has allowed the movement of such trapped persons who had left their original places or workplaces just before the lockdown period but due to the lockdown Could not return to original locations or workplace.

He said, “The facility available in the orders is for such aggrieved migrant laborers. But this facility is not for the persons of the categories who are ordinarily residing and want to go to places other than the original places for the purpose of work.” Or want to go to their place of origin in general. “
