Mumbai: Shiv Sena president and former chief minister Uddhav Thackeray has said that the sleuths of the Enforcement Directorate (ED) may arrest party leader Sanjay Raut. Thackeray made the statement at a meeting with the party leaders at his residence ‘Matoshree’ on Sunday. He also said that the purpose of the ED is to finish off the Shiv Sena.

When Thackeray was addressing the meeting, the ED sleuths were searching the house of Raut in connection with a money laundering case. He said, “ED guests are at Sanjay Raut’s house. He may get arrested. What conspiracy is this? Shiv Sena gives strength to Hindus and Marathi people. Hence, there is a conspiracy to finish off the party.”

Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari insulted Marathi and Maharashtra through his remarks on Mumbai, Thackeray said. On Friday evening, Koshyari said that if Gujaratis and Rajasthanis are not there, Mumbai’s flow of money would dry up and it would cease to remain the financial capital of the country. Thackeray said, “What was the reaction of those who have become slaves? It was very mild. They just said we don’t agree.”  Most of the Shiv Sena workers who attended the meeting were from Thane. They came under the leadership of the party MP from Thane Rajan Vichare to pledge their support to Thackeray.
