New Delhi: The officials of the Enforcement Directorate (ED) have issued a summon to the wife of Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut, Varsha Raut, in connection with the Patra Chawl money laundering case, official sources said on Thursday. The officials said that the summon was issued to his wife after they came to know that the money had been transacted through her accounts. Raut arrested after the search of his house by ED officials was sent to the ED custody till Thursday, but his remand has been extended till August 8.

A Pune businessman Avinash Bhonsale is in ED custody in connection with DHFL Yet Bank case and the officials of the probe agency want to grill Raut in connection with that case, too. As claimed by the ED officials, DHFL financial scam is linked to Patra Chawl case. The ED attached Raut’s properties in April this year.
