New Delhi: A birthday party turned into a tragedy in Dwarka area of Delhi on the night of June 6 when a sloshed man stabbed his woman neighbour and her two daughters after being denied food after the party, the police said on Saturday.

The drunken man identified as Vicky barged into his neighbour’s house around 12:30pm and demanded food. The family has seven members and celebrated the birthday of their five-year-old son. It was the girls who organised a small party on the occasion. The girls said that when the man demanded from their mother, she said that as it was midnight, the food was finished, so he should go to his home. One of the girls lodged a complaint at the police station.

The drunkard got so angry that he brought a knife and threatened to kill all of them, the girl said. The girl said that the man had stabbed her mother in the abdomen and in the shoulder. When her elder sister tried to rescue their mother, the man stabbed her, and another sister, the girl said. On hearing their cries, their neighbours rushed to the spot and caught hold of the man and handed over him to the police after thrashing him. The injured were sent to the Deen Dayal Hospital.
