Dattatreya Hosabale elected RSS’ Sarkaryawah

New Delhi: Dattatreya Hosabale has secured the number two position in the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, he has been elected the new Sarkaryawah of the organization in the All India House of Representatives of the RSS in Bengaluru on Saturday. Mr. Hosabale was the sah-Sarkaryavah of the RSS since 2009. He has been elected unanimously to the post of Sarkaryavah of the RSS and will now replace Suresh Bhaiyaji Joshi, who has held this post for the last 12 years.

He was born on 1 December 1955 in Soraba taluk of Shimoga district, Karnataka. He has studied post-graduation from the English subject. He became an RSS volunteer at the age of 13 in 1968 and joined the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad in 1972. He was the organization’s general secretary of the council for the next 15 years and was also active in the JP movement of 1975-77. He remained in jail under ‘MISA’ for nearly two and a half years. He also edited two handwritten magazines in the jail.

Hosabale became the All India Co-Intellectual Head of the RSS in 2004. After this, he has been working in the post of sah-Sarkaryavah since 2008. Apart from his mother tongue Kannada, he is a scholar in Indian and foreign languages ​​like English, Hindi, Sanskrit, Tamil, Marathi, etc. He is the founder-editor of the Kannada-monthly ‘Aseema’.
