New Delhi/Bhopal: The Congress’s promise to ban Bajrang Dal has kicked up protests across the country.

In Jabalpur district of Madhya Pradesh, the members of Bajrang Dal vandalized the Congress party office on Thursday.

Observing the repercussions, the Madhya Pradesh Congress committee made it clear that it would not take any risk on Hindutva.

The party said it would not include in its manifesto any kind of ban on the Bajrang Dal.

The party does not want to raise any such issue as should whip up communal passion and the BJP takes advantage of it.

A member of the party’s manifesto committee in Madhya Pradesh said he had neither received any suggestion for including such an issue in the manifesto nor the subject figured in any meeting of the committee.

He said the party’s focus would be to highlight the issues like unemployment, price rise, and corruption in its manifesto.

Sources in the Congress said that MPCC president Kamal Nath had advised the party leaders to be careful about making any remark on the Bajrang Dal issue.

Nath told the party men to keep away from raising the matter.

In fact, since Nath has been trying to woo the Hindus, he does not want the BJP to take advantage of religious polarisation before the election. He knows that the BJP has expertise in whipping up emotional issues.

This is the reason that Nath wants to keep away from emotional issues.

According to sources, the central leadership of the party was behind the inclusion of the proposal for a ban on the Bajrang Dal.

However, Congress will avoid such issues in the state, since Nath has to take all the decisions.
