NewDelhi: Sikh and Hindu organizations came face to face on the anti-Khalistan march in Patiala on Friday. Hindu organizations were preparing to take out a march. During this time some Sikh organizations started opposing them. The situation becomes tense after stone pelting from both sides.

Meanwhile, the SHO suffered a hand injury. After this, the SSP fired in the air to handle the situation. At present, the atmosphere here remains tense. Police have stopped Sikh organizations from protesting and Hindu organizations from taking out the march. Now heavy police force has been deployed on the spot. The police have closed the Kali Mata temple of Patiala by locking it as a precautionary measure. At the same time, Sikh organizations have started demonstrations at Pawawara Chowk in Patiala. He is demanding action.

Controversy over the burning of Khalistan effigy

Here Shiv Sena had made preparations to burn an effigy against Khalistan. On knowing this, Khalistan supporters started protesting. There the police stopped them and sent them back. However, members of Sikh organizations reached the Kali Mata temple with swords. There was a lot of brick and stone going on between the two sides.

At the same time, Jaswinder Singh Rajpura said that Sikh organizations had appealed for many days that some organizations are spoiling the atmosphere against Sikh Raj. The administration should have arrested these people, so that the atmosphere does not get spoiled.

Situation under control, don’t pay heed to rumours: IG Rakesh Agarwal

Patiala Range IG Rakesh Agarwal said that the situation is now under control. Somebody had spread a rumour, due to which there was a rift between the two sides. There is also a rumor about cutting off the hand of the SHO. Efforts are being made to calm the situation completely. He said the police had to fire in the air to handle the situation on the spot.

CM Bhagwant Mann spoke to DGP

Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann said that the Patiala incident is very unfortunate. I have spoken to the DGP in this regard. Peace has been restored in the area. The government is monitoring the whole matter seriously. No one will be allowed to disturb the peace. Peace and brotherhood are most important to us in Punjab.

Opponents attacked Mann government

Leader of Opposition in Punjab Assembly Partap Singh Bajwa said that there is an atmosphere of complete anarchy in the state. The situation in Patiala is disturbing. The law and order situation in Punjab has worsened since the last one month. The CM should immediately accompany the DGP to Patiala.

Congress MLA Sukhpal Khaira said that the law and order situation in Punjab has become completely dastardly. The incident in Patiala is a complete intelligence failure. It is high time that Bhagwant Mann should be given a free hand to take a decision.

Former CM Captain Amarinder Singh said that after the clash between two groups in Patiala, the situation of tension is worrying. The people of Patiala are peace-loving. The Captain said that the Punjab Police will take appropriate action to maintain law and order.
