Center’s cooperation helped a lot in strengthening medical infrastructure in the state: CM Yogi

Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has expressed his gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the guidance being provided to him. He said that the cooperation of the Government of India has helped a lot in strengthening the medical infrastructure in the state. At present, 503 Covid hospitals of Level-1, Level-2, Level-3 are operational in the state. A total of 01 lakh 01 thousand 236 beds are available in these hospitals.

The Chief Minister was expressing his views on the occasion of dialogue through video conferencing with the Chief Ministers of various states of the Prime Minister at his official residence here today. He said that so far more than 05 lakh tests have been done to check the infection of Covid-19 in the state. Currently, about 16,000 tests are being conducted every day related to Covid-19 infection. It is targeted to be increased to 20,000 by 20 June 2020.

The Chief Minister urged the Prime Minister to make a comprehensive policy for Delhi and its adjoining districts. He said that there is a continuous movement in these areas. Accordingly, there should be a system of screening of suspected and symptomatic infected persons of Covid-19, so that effective control can be imposed on the infection.

The Chief Minister said that keeping the non-symptomatic cases infected with Covid-19 in the home quarantine, it is not possible to follow the necessary discipline. This increases the risk of infection to the kin of the infected, as well as the possibility of infection spreading through other persons in contact with the family. Citing more than one lakh Covid beds available in the state, he requested the Prime Minister to allow symptomatic Covid-19 positive patients to be kept in Covid hospitals to break the chain of infection of Covid-19 and control its spread.
