Kolkata: In the aftermath of Partha Chatterjee’s arrest by the Enforcement Directorate in connection with teachers’ recruitment scam, the West Bengal government stripped him of the ministerial post on Thursday, sources said. According to an official order, Chatterjee, minister in charge of the department of industry, commerce and enterprises, department of information technology and electronics, department of parliamentary affairs and the department of public enterprises and industrial reconstruction has been relieved of his duties.

Meanwhile, at an event, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee said that she would take care of the portfolios held by Chatterjee. ED took Chatterjee into custody on July 23 in connection with irregularities in School Service (SSC) recruitment. Chatterjee is also the secretary general of the Trinamool Congress
