Amaravati: The farmers are set to take out the second Maha Padyatra demanding development of Amravati as the state capital, sources said. Their decision to take out the Maha Padyatra came after the Andhra High Court gave its nod for it. The farmers affiliated to Amaravati Parirakshana Samithi (APS) and the Joint Action Committee (JAC) were gearing up to launch the march on September 12.

The aim of the march is to set up infrastructure to develop Amaravati into a state capital. On march 3 this year, the high court ordered that the government should complete the work for it.

It will begin from Venkatapalem in Thullur Mandal at 5am. Before taking out the march, the participants will worship at Venkateshwara Swamy temple in Venkatapalem. The march will conclude at Arasavalli in Srikakulam district on November 11. The march will pass through 16 districts. The leaders of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP), Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), the Communist Party of India (CPI), the Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPI-M), the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and the Congress will be present at the launch of the Yatra.
