Allahabad: The Allahabad High Court has issued notices to Sambhal special SC/ST Act judge, on a plea by a Dalit woman, after her name was not included in the voter’s list during the UP 2022 assembly elections.

The petitioner was recognized as Seema Devi, according to the information received the lady filed several complaints but no action was taken which ultimately led her to file a plea in court. Seema tried to lodge a complaint under section 156(3) of crpc but the officials refused an FIR in the case. Subsequently, seema filed a criminal case in the high court.

Consequently, Seema approached the HC and filed a criminal appeal. Vimlesh kumara the lawyer said to the press that her client’s vote was canceled without giving any notice to Seema. Which ultimately did not get her to cast her vote.

Vimlesh Kumari further said that an affidavit was submitted by the district administration that Seema had already left the place following which the complaint made by the victim was terminated. A senior administration official claimed that the name can only be removed by the BLO if that person is not staying at that particular place for a long time.

Further, the District magistrate Manish Bansal made an official statement that he was not aware of this complaint and did not receive any legal notice from the high court. Following this, he also assured me that he will take legal action once he receives notice from the court.
