New Delhi: The Delhi government on Wednesday said that all asymptomatic travellers to the Capital will have to be in home quarantine for a week. The number of cases in Delhi are 23,645 and 606 patients have died so far.
Meanwhile, the World Health Organization said that it will resume clinical trials of anti-malarial drug hydroxychloroquine, a week after the global body decided to temporarily halt the drug citing safety concerns.
Earlier in the day, India’s coronavirus cases crossed 2 lakh, two days after the lockdown measures were considerably eased and the economy began to re-open. The cases jumped by 8,909 over the previous day in one of the highest single-day rise, taking the tally to 2,07,615. The toll from the disease stood at 5,815 after 217 casualties.
