Bulandshahr: Four people died and 5 others were admitted to the hospital after they consumed spurious liquor in Sikandrabad area of the district on Friday.
Police here said that the incident occurred in Jeetgarhi village where people after consuming country-made liquor on Thursday night fell ill and were rushed to the hospital. The four died during the treatment while 5 others were in critical conditions.
SSP has suspended 3 policemen, including the Chowki In-charge. But the people, selling the hooch, were yet to be arrested.
The deceased were identified as Satish (35), Kalua (40), Ranjit(45) and Sukhpal (60).
Police said that 9 people consumed the hooch last night, before going to sleep. But after midnight, they complained about stomach ache and were rushed to the hospital where four died.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has ordered stern action against the people selling hooch and ordered to book them under NSA.
The CM has asked the officials to rush to the spot and provide proper treatment to the people admitted in the hospital.
He has asked the authorities concerned to take action against the distillery concerned.
