Rehan said, “She doesn’t like me anymore. I told her that I lost my job and she has not been picking up my calls. She is neglecting me and that’s the worst feeling I am facing. I don’t want to continue my relationship with her anymore,” said Rehan in an aggressive tone. Rehan’s girlfriend had completely another story to tell. She shared, “Aunty, it is Rehan who has been acting weirdly with me since the last month. He told me that he has quit the job because some people are gossiping about him at the workplace. I completely supported him in the decision and in fact, helped him write the resignation letter. Now he is calling me continuously and saying that this relationship will not work and it is better if we part ways amicably. I am really at a loss for words. I never want to separate from Rehan because I love him the most. But I am unable to tolerate the abusive words that he tells during the phone calls. His depression and sadness are affecting my mental health and that’s why I decided to not pick up his calls of late. Rehan’s mother understood that it is Rehan’s mental health that is on a huge decline. She immediately called her counselor friend who advised her that there is a huge probability that Rehan has been losing his rational thinking. Probably his job loss is one of the main reasons why Rehan is thinking of all negative scenarios and putting an end to his loving relationship by creating tough situations for his girlfriend.
Rehan was advised to go for therapy wherein he could gain back his rational thinking and reduce the worries that he has developed over a period of time. Rehan’s worry came from the times of coronavirus pandemic wherein he saw the loss of his 5 family members and relatives. Rehan couldn’t digest the fact that he is alive and has to live alone in this world.
His loneliness made him think and plot such wicked ideas to spoil his own reputation and life. That’s why he distanced himself from everyone and badmouthed them by saying that they left him all alone. Rehan was introduced to sessions on training the subconscious mind to look at only opportunities instead of worrying over things that will never happen in reality. Rehan made use of the counseling ideas that his aunt guided him and eventually he overcame the negative habit of worrying.
He searched for a better job opportunity and called up his girlfriend and apologized for the errors that he did knowingly and unknowingly. Eventually, they led a beautiful life ahead.
