What is in a name? It is what Juliet told Rome that there is nothing to do with a name and no meaning involved in a person’s name. It is because there is more to a person than just his name. And it is nothing else than the person’s actions and karma. A person’s main qualities are more important than his name or surname or community name. And that has been proved again and again in recent times.
Arvind Kejriwal Will Reveal the Name of Candidate for CM in Punjab
I will take the examples of actors or actresses only in this regard because I have seen how they are transforming the industry with sheer hard work, genuine efforts, and passion for their profession. Meet Yash, also known as Naveen Kumar Gowda who is ruling the Kannada film industry with his back-to-back hit films of the KGF series. No wonder the director is in the works for KGF 3 and we will know where Rocky is and what happened to him really in the next film hopefully.
Dilip Kumar’s 10 classics: From ‘Mughal-E-Azam’ to ‘Karma’
Apart from appreciating his film performances, I really loved the dialogue that he spoke in KGF 2 in his introductory scene wherein he was asked by another goon how his parents have given birth to them so that they can carry on with their legacy in the goon world. To which, the superstar Yash, in the film Rocky Bhai replied that he hates nepotism because it literally spoils the show for hard-working and talented people like him who want to make it big in the world. The way he spoke the dialogue, it appeared as if Yash was telling his real-life story of how he carved the niche in the Kannada film business purely based on his hard work and efforts.
If we look at self-made successful people like Yash, Shah Rukh Khan, Nani, Irrfan Khan, Akshay Kumar, Priyanka Chopra, Vidya Balan, Deepika Padukone, and several others who come from a non-filmy background and no godfather in the entertainment business, we understand the reality of life. Each step that these people have taken is made on their own, through their own thinking and risk-taking abilities. Imagine how they knew that they want to succeed no matter what and look back no behind so that they could create their own legacy and name in the business.
So, in the post-2000 era, we can say that India has moved on from having a rigid mentality to giving jobs based on any name or rank. The country is celebrating stars and people who are taking efforts and figuring out a success formula themselves rather than following any particular fixed mindset or mentality. It is indeed that no name can get a person job in today’s times wherein people are judged or given opportunities only based on their willingness to work, slog hard and come out in the open in the market or industry with all that they have and all that they can. We no longer really need to rely on or judge people based only on their surnames as time has proved that the first name, middle name, and last name won’t give you success, it is only the work that you do that counts more than anything else!
