Amazing things about Vatican City-themed Durga Puja pandal
Durga Puja will be held this year from 1st October to 5th October. The first day of Durga Puja will happen on 1st October and the fifth day will be held on 5th October 2022. Durga Puja, which is also called Durgotsav is quite famous among people living in West Bengal. Durgotsav includes all the festivals and events that happen during the 5 days.
It is believed that the first time worshipping Goddess Durga occurred in the 1500s. As per the folk stories, Dinajpur, Malda, and the landlords were the ones who started this tradition of Durga Puja in Bengal. The first Shardiya or Autumn Durga Puja festival was held in 1606 for the first time in Bengal by famous people like Raja Kangshanarayan of Taherpur or Bhabananda Mazumdar of Nadiya.
As Durga Puja is just a week later, there is preparation for holding the festival and functions in full swing in Kolkata in West Bengal. One of the renowned clubs in Kolkata called Sreebhumi Sporting Club has come up with a unique theme this year to celebrate the festival of Durga Pooja 2022. The club has come up with Vatican City as the theme for the worship pandal of Durga Pooja. The club is also celebrating its golden jubilee during the festive season. For the unaware, Sri Bhoomi Sporting club is situated in Bidhannar, Kolkata.
Vatican City's St. Peters Basilica is the theme this year in the club that is celebrating its 50 years of existence. For the people who didn't get what the theme is all about, Vatican City is located in Rome and the pandal organizers have used their pandal to recreate Rome city there. It took 60 days time and 100 artisans to come together to create this amazing pandal.
