Shree Siddhivinayak Ganapati Mandir has been developed by Laxman Vithu and Deubai Patil on 19th November 1801, as per the details mentioned on Wikipedia. This temple of Mumbai is said to be one of the richest temples in India. It has a small mandap where the idol of Lord Ganesha is placed and is called Siddhi Vinayak, which means Ganesha who grants your wish.

Before 200 years ago, the temple was a small structure having a black stone idol of Shree Siddhivinayak, which was around 2.5 feet wide. It is interesting to note how the temple has been constructed and renovated well over a period of years. The temple has earned its own fame and popularity due to the visit by Bollywood stars and politicians on a regular basis to get the blessings of Lord Ganesha.

Siddhivinayak is regarded as Navsacha Ganapati, which means Ganpati fulfills the wishes whenever it comes from the humility and genuineness of devotees. In order to perform different types of poojas, facilities are created by temple officials.

Shree Siddhivinayak Ganapati Mandir's poojas are conducted on a daily basis between 7 AM to 7 PM. One can visit the pooja booking counter outside the Siddhi Gate to perform the poojas. Sankashti Chaturthi and Vinayaka Chaturthi are some of the festivals held by the temple in a grand manner.

In order to reach the temple from Mumbai CST, you can take Dadar local train which will take 20-30 minutes. You can also get a share taxi outside Dadar station for visiting Siddhivinayak temple which may take minimum 30rs and you will reach in a timeframe of 10-15 minutes depending on the traffic and also the timing. 

Once reached the temple, you have to keep your bag outside with your mobile and camera as well because it is not allowed to take inside the temple premises. You will get a token number that you can produce once you are done with darshan and claim your baggage. You can get a puja basket for 51 or 101 rs and keep your shoes in that pooja shop. In order to get inside the temple as a common visitor, you can stand in a big line that is at the entrance of the temple.
