Paharganj’s main bazar in Delhi, which is known as backpackers’ paradise, used to have a huge number of shops including money changers, hotels, rooftop restaurants, tour operators, and handicrafts shops.
Foreign tourists used to flock in to such shops before the pandemic that hit the country in March.
However, in the last seven months, with no tourists entering the market, the sales of all these shops have almost come down to zero.
It seems the coronavirus pandemic has almost halted tourism in Delhi. Paharganj, which used to a busy market with lots of foreign tourists are going through a huge financial crisis owing to the ongoing coronavirus.
Also, Delhi Tourism, which is held by Delhi government has no boost. Travel and tour operators in the national capital are almost jobless with dark future.
Delhi, which was ranked 11th in the list list of ‘Top 100 city destinations’ in the world by Euromonitor International is going through a deserted phase now.
