About Bhadraj Temple

The Bhadraj Temple has its own importance because it is believed that the blessing you get from there is the same as you get from the Badrinath temple. Dedicated to Lord Bal Bhadra, brother of Lord Krishna, devotees offer milk, butter, and ghee at the temple. Also, it is not allowed to visit the temple after consuming meat, egg, or alcohol.

In addition, every year, the Bhadraj temple organizes a fair from 15th to 17th of August to attract more devotees. This annual fair shows the culture and traditions of the people – a great way to revisit the roots.

The Bhadraj temple was built in the Dwapar Yug after the Mahabharat war. After that, all kings, gods, or soldiers search for a place to worship, and then at the same time, Lord Bal Bhadra found the palace in Binhar. Bal Bhadra mediated at this place for a long time before leaving for Badrinath.

While he left for Badrinath, Lord Bal Bhadra promised to the local people of Binhar that he would come back in the form of stone. Later, a native of Binhar found a statue of Lord Bhadra. The statue was placed at a high altitude called Bhadraj Temple, and it is believed that the statue guided that native to put it at the top of the hill.
