Many times, we get into a struggle within our minds to speak the truth or not. Many times in life, we get into a fight within us that if we do the right thing in a particular way, we won’t be accepted by the family or the society or our friends or relatives for supporting and doing the right.
However, gone are the days when we really have to be afraid to face the consequences of our actions that are meant to bring about a change in ourselves, our family, and society in general. For example, if your boss has been emotionally abusive towards you and your work for a long period of time, but you still put up with the abuse thinking that after all the company is paying you and you are losing out on a good opportunity if you speak up the truth to your colleagues or bring the torture in the notice of the management, you are doing wrong to yourself.
This Women’s Day, let us choose to challenge the old beliefs of the society that women cannot do this or that and have to lead lives in a particular manner or live up to others’ expectations even if it is against her happiness or peace of mind. Let us not tolerate what is no longer serving us. Let us challenge our old systems that still make women feel inferior to others. Let us choose to end the dominance on women that has been running in their lives for since long. Women are no more slaves of anyone. Women are human beings after all who are willing to make an identity for themselves and lead a good life on their terms and perceptions.
Choose to Challenge your thinking or perception of women to be sacrificing role models in society. Let her be as she is and enjoy her life the way she thinks is appropriate for her.
