Foods eaten by mothers can have a direct impact on the child’s health. Thus, iron-rich food items should be eaten whereas, packaged and adulterated foods should be avoided during pregnancy. Other food items that should be prohibited to eat are:
1) Eating large fish with high-level in mercury can have a negative effect on infants or young children. It can even cause brain damage to and nervous system. Don’t consume fish such as tuna, shark, swordfish, walleye, marlin, and raw fish.

3) Pregnant women consuming papaya can find themselves to be in an extremely dangerous situation as it can even lead to abortion and uterine contractions.
4) Ajinomoto can affect the brain development of the fetus and thus, people can avoid noodles and even street-side Chinese food during pregnancy.
5) Pineapple can lead to miscarriage or even softening of the cervix causing unsuccessful labor and thus, should be avoided.
6) Fenugreek Seeds or methi seeds can also lead to premature births or even abortion and thus, they are not good for pregnant women.
7) Lot of coffee intake is not good for health and can prove to be dangerous during the first trimester. Coffee or caffeine drinks are said to flush out fluids from the body, thus leaving one dehydrated.
