We are in the most panicky and anxious state of our lives wherein every day we get up and read that the number of coronavirus cases and deaths have only increased all over the states in India. There is no declining trend witnessed since the last three weeks or more.
Moreover, predictions are going viral that we will continue to witness the peak period in the coming 3 months and the rest of the months of the year will find a decline. Well, how much can we rely on such assumptions are quite a task because we really don’t know what is going to happen in the long run.
So, instead of over-planning and over-analyzing about what’s going to happen right tomorrow or next month, or next year, let’s take things one at a time. Here are some tips to achieve such a state of mind:
1) Focus on what is happening right now, at this moment. So, in case you are reading a book currently, think about completing the page and moving on to the next task. Do not overburden yourself with negative thoughts about yourself, about your family, work, relationships, and people outside in the country.
2) Detach yourself from social media and news channels for a while. Yes, it is good to increase your knowledge and stay updated about what is happening everyday in the world, but in case this habit of yours is actually making you weak from within and making you lose the needed courage and confidence to lead a good life, then there is no problem in disconnecting from the online media for a while.
3) Avoid talking about coronavirus all the time with your friends or family. In case someone is trying to share their viewpoints and keep on criticizing how the country has got failed due to its officials, then stay away from such discussions. See at the end of the day, what you discuss, hear or think, is nowhere going to make a huge difference in society. Then why do you have the need to waste your productive time?
4) Stop planning in a panic mode. Stop the thoughts that make you feel what will happen if you get the virus or how will your family survive. As far as you take all the necessary precautions and follow the COVID-appropriate behavior, you have nothing to fear or worry about. Just focus on one thing at a time and just keep moving forward! Do not look back and do not look at the future. Just today, and that is it!
