Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday greeted the citizens of the country on the special festival of Bhai Dooj.
Prime Minister Modi said on Twitter: “Best wishes to all of you on the holy occasion of Bhai Dooj.”
Bhai Dooj or Bhaubeej or Bhathru Dwithiya is the festival that celebrates the bonding between brothers and sisters.
On this festival, sisters pray to God asking for happiness and long life for their brothers and perform a Tika ceremony.
In return, brothers give gifts to their sisters and assure that they will always protect their sisters and keep them safe.
Modi has always actively shared his wishes for each Indian festival on his social media accounts to address the people of the country.
