Chhath Puja 2022 is a festival that is celebrated immediately after the 5-day-long Diwali festival in India. Chhath Puja is dedicated to Surya Dev and Goddess Chhathi. It is observed on the sixth day of Shukla Paksha of Kartik month. The festival of Chhath Puja lasts for four days and each day has its own importance. In 2022, Chhath Puja will begin on 28 October 2022 and end on 31 October 2022. During the festival of Chhath Puja, women observe a nirjala fast for 36 hours for the betterment, good health, success, and long life of their children.

On the festive occasion of Chhath Puja 2022 when people living in North India would travel in large numbers to visit their homes, the Central Railway has announced 250 special trains. These trains will run to Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Jharkhand, and Chattisgarh from different locations all over India. More than 1.4 lakh sleeping berths would be accessible to the public. 21,561 trips have been planned out for 211 trains before the start of Chhath Puja. The idea is to ensure that the large crowds are managed and spread out in different trains.
