Amma, see people in the school are calling me fatty, said Reena to her mom who was working in the kitchen. Reena’s mom came out of the kitchen to handle the teary-eyed Reena and helped her to calm down. Reena’s mom said that she need not get bothered by these comments as her excess fat has come due to the recent hormonal changes that have happened to her. Reena didn’t understand anything and kept sobbing continuously.
Glass, a sustainable alternative in the kitchen! Here’s why!
Reena stopped going back to the group with whom she was having fun at her school. Reena made new friends who never scolded or mocked her due to her growing weight. Reena started attending college where again she was criticized for having abnormal weight as per her height. She came back sobbing to her mom again who told her that crying like this over people’s comments won’t work for her at all. She needs to practice body acceptance and follow the right diet patterns if she wants to lead a healthy lifestyle.

This time Reena didn’t cry further and decided to follow healthy habits. She researched on the Google search engine what foods have more calories and can increase the weight like anything. She decided to stop having junk food items on a regular basis and instead opted to prepare some healthy snacks at home whenever she felt like eating pizza, vada pav, etc. Instead of hitting the gym that her friends always recommended to her, she decided to go to a yoga class and practice walking for an hour every day.
She avoided meals that had a lot of spice, oil, salt, and sweets. Instead, she went for simple food living habits that encouraged foods to be prepared with homemade stuff. She kept cheating on meal days once in 15 days wherein she can eat whatever her mouth craved and there would be no question from her parents or herself about the foods she ate. She also decided to take less stress on things that she cannot control. For example, whenever she used to feel bullied by others for her increased weight, she would change the topic of discussion or ignore their comments as if she didn’t hear anything.
Reena didn’t lose a lot of weight but her weight loss was just one kilogram a month which kept her motivated to have a healthy weight. Reena focused on health over the criticism and figures. She didn’t aim for having a size zero body but a body and mind that is healthy to tolerate all the changes that happen in the outside world. Reena tried to become more resilient and courageous by reading positive articles on a happy mindset, healthy body, optimistic thinking, and removing the negative clutter from life. Her ambition was to focus on just one thing at a time and she successfully reduce the weight over a period of time without any gym memberships or tonics that help you lose weight instantly. Reena’s case is an example of how you have to only invest your time and the right mindset in your weight loss journey.
