A message is going viral on social media claiming that using air conditioner (AC) can spread the corona virus. It is also being said in the message that corona infection spreads rapidly due to AC. Now comes the turn to check whether the AC is really dangerous or it is a rumor.
According to the PIB’s fact check, there is no complete truth in the message that the corona spreads from AC. PIB tweeted that there is no danger in using Windows AC, but there is a danger in using Central AC. Along with this, PIB has also tweeted a video which you can watch.

For example, if you are using Windows AC in your home then there is no problem, but if you are using central AC in an office or hospital and there is someone infected with corona, then corona infection can spread throughout the office and hospital.
Many such claims were being made on social media that the corona virus would be eradicated with the increase in heat. While no research has been revealed so far that the corona will be over due to increasing heat. In such a situation, it is better to use social media but keep a close watch on the rumors.
