Best gifts for Father’s Day 2020 amid lockdown

We all are locked up due to coronavirus pandemic and having access to less outside resources. Shops, malls, restaurants are being slowly opened in non-containment zones all over the country.

However, people living in red zones are a long way to resume normal life. This doesn’t mean we should stop living and enjoying our lives even if we are at home.

Father’s Day is going to be celebrated on 21 June 2020, Sunday. Although there are still two weeks to go, but you can make enough preparations from home itself to celebrate the day with fun and fervour.

1) Do you know the best food menu your dad likes the most? It can be Indian or Italian, South Indian or North Indian, Maharashtrian style, veg or non-veg. It can be anything that your father loves the most to eat and drink. Prepare a list of those food items and start learning to cook them well using YouTube tutorials. Give your mother a break on Father’s Day so that she can enjoy and spend quality time with her hubby. If you are a pro at cooking, then nothing like it. Give a tasty, world-class treat to your family at home this Father’s Day.

2) What is it that your dad likes to listen and watch for entertainment? Is it Mohammed Rafi songs he likes to listen to calm his mind? Or is it some old Rajesh Khanna movies that he loves to admire? Figure it out and get those songs and movies to watch and have fun time with your family. You never know how touched your dad will feel when he sees your efforts to know about his likings.

3) Remember how your dad used to enjoy time with you during your childhood? Was it a ludo game or a carom-board game? Was it drawing or writing that you both used to do together during holidays? Was it reading some mythological books or learning some new skills? Discuss with your mom how you both shared a bond during your childhood days and do something on those lines this Father’s Day too.

You know these small acts can make a long way in making your father feel how special he is in your life. He may never have imagined that his child is now a grown-up who is willing to cherish the old memories and give him a new experience altogether this Father’s Day 2020!
