Krishna Janmashtami will be celebrated on 30th August 2021, Monday. It is a festival that marks the birth anniversary of Lord Krishna. Krishna Janmashtami is also known as Gokulashtami. People from all parts of India worship Lord Krishna, who is the human form of Lord Vishnu. People adore Lord Krishna for his folklore stories and his contribution to establish dharma and karma in the world.

In Maharashtra, people celebrate the festival in two days. One is Janmashtami that falls on 30 August this year and the second day is Dahi Handi which is on 31 August 2021 in which people get into a human pyramid to reach to break a pot or matka that is placed high above.
